Plumber uniforms & plumbing work shirts
Embroidered work shirts that look professional in a customer's kitchen, hold up under a sink, and put your company name on every service call.
Plumber uniforms from Heart & Hook are embroidered work polos, button-ups, and performance tees with your logo and each tech's name, in dark, stain-hiding colors and fabrics that survive daily washing. We outfit plumbing companies across Arizona, and through your own company store new techs order their sizes on demand and every reorder matches.
What a plumbing uniform actually has to do
A plumber's shirt has two jobs that pull in opposite directions. It has to look clean and trustworthy when a homeowner opens the door, and twenty minutes later it's under a sink, in a crawlspace, or next to a water heater that hasn't been touched since 2009.
So we build plumbing uniforms around the work first. Dark colors — navy, charcoal, dark gray — because they hide the day. Poly or poly-cotton performance blends instead of 100% cotton, because they wick, dry fast, and don't wrinkle into a mess on the truck seat. And enough shirts per tech that nobody's showing up to the 4 p.m. call in the shirt they wore to the morning sewer job.
- Button-up work shirts — pockets, a collar, and the most "established" look at the door
- Performance polos — the everyday pick for residential service techs
- Long-sleeve options for crawlspaces, attics, and sun
- Heavyweight printed tees for install and new-construction crews
- Quarter-zips and jackets for winter mornings and commercial jobs
- Embroidered caps and beanies
Embroider the service shirts, print the crew tees
For the shirts your techs wear into homes every day, embroidery is the right call almost every time. Thread doesn't crack or peel after a hundred washes, it reads as more established at the door, and it sidesteps a real problem with printing on polyester: dye migration, where the shirt's dye creeps up into the ink and turns a white logo pink a few weeks in.
For install crews and new-construction teams going through shirts fast, screen printing is cheaper per shirt once you're past 48 pieces, and a big company name across the back is free advertising on every job site. For smaller runs or full-color art, DTF starts at 12 with no per-color setup.
If you're still working out the design itself — colors, what goes on the back, what to leave off — we wrote all of that up in plumbing company shirts.
Names on the shirt are worth it
The layout we suggest for most plumbing companies: logo on the left chest at 3 to 4 inches, the tech's first name on the right chest, and your company name and phone number across the back, big enough to read from a driveway.
Names add a little per shirt, since each one is its own stitch file. We'd still recommend them. A homeowner who can say "Hi, Mike" before Mike introduces himself starts that visit already comfortable, and that matters when you're asking to walk through someone's house.
If your state wants a license number visible, put it small and low on the back rather than cramming it into the main logo. And through a company store, we can add a name for a new hire without re-running anyone else's shirts.
Uniform rental vs. owning your shirts
A lot of plumbing companies we talk to are on a rental contract and not totally sure why anymore. The pitch is convenience: someone else handles the laundry. The catch is the bill never stops, and the garments are usually generic with a patch on them.
The honest math usually favors buying more shirts per tech, not renting. Five or six each means laundry happens on the weekend instead of every night, and over a couple of years you'll typically spend less than the rental fees — while owning shirts that actually look like your brand. We walked through the full comparison in uniform rental vs. buying.
If rental genuinely fits your setup, that's fine too. We'd just rather you make that call with the numbers in front of you.
New techs, outfitted the day they start
Plumbing companies hire when they can find good people, not on a schedule — which means the bulk order from March doesn't help the tech you hire in October.
An online company store fixes that. Your approved shirts, logo, and thread colors live at a link, the new hire orders his own sizes, and it ships. There's no minimum through a store, and every reorder matches because we stitch from the same saved file. If you want allowances and per-role kits on top, that's a uniform program.
For one-time runs, embroidery starts at 24 pieces, screen printing at 48, and DTF at 12. Digitizing your logo is included on store orders and bulk orders that meet those minimums, so most shops never see a setup line.
Made in Mesa, worn across Arizona
We print and stitch everything in house and outfit plumbing companies alongside HVAC and electrical crews across Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Tucson. You're talking to the people running the machines, not a broker.
Send your logo and a rough headcount and we'll come back with garment recommendations, a free mockup on the actual shirt, and a straight quote. If you'd like a sample before outfitting the whole crew, just ask — that's a normal request. Get in touch whenever you're ready!

Plumbing Companies FAQs
- Where can I get custom plumber uniforms?
- We make custom plumber uniforms in house in Mesa, Arizona and ship anywhere — embroidered work shirts, polos, tees, and caps with your logo and tech names. Order once for the crew, then reorder on demand from your own company store as you hire.
- What do plumbers wear for a uniform?
- Most plumbing companies use embroidered button-up work shirts or performance polos in dark colors like navy or charcoal, plus a branded cap and a jacket for cooler months. Poly-cotton blends hold up better than 100% cotton and hide stains.
- Should plumbing uniforms be embroidered or printed?
- Embroider the shirts techs wear into homes — stitching survives daily washing and looks more established. Screen print crew tees for install teams, where it's cheaper past 48 pieces. Most plumbing companies end up with both.
- Can you add each plumber's name to their shirt?
- Yes. Names embroidered on the right chest are one of our most common add-ons for service trades. Send the name list and we'll sort and label each shirt by person, and new hires can be added later without re-running the order.
- Is it cheaper to buy plumbing uniforms or rent them?
- Usually buying. Five or six shirts per tech covers a work week, and over a couple of years that typically costs less than ongoing rental fees — plus you own shirts with your actual branding instead of a generic patch.
- What is the minimum order for plumber uniforms?
- For a one-time run, embroidery starts at 24 pieces, screen printing at 48, and DTF at 12. Through an online company store there's no minimum, so a new hire can order a single shirt in their size.
