Custom Beanies

The beanie style changes the look more than the logo, and it changes what the logo can be. Cuffed knit beanies are the standard and the safest pick: the folded cuff gives a flat, double-thick panel that takes embroidery cleanly, and it reads right on a crew and at a coffee shop. Slouch and uncuffed styles are softer and more casual — merch, not uniform — and the logo has to stay small because there’s no cuff to stitch through. Pom beanies are the school-spirit and retail favorite, and they sell themselves on a merch table.

On fabric: acrylic knit is the workhorse — warm, holds color, washes well, and it’s what most of the blanks we carry are made of. Fleece-lined versions are the upgrade for crews who are actually outside in the cold. Cotton and cotton-blend knits are softer and lighter, which suits a mild Arizona winter and anyone who runs warm.

If your logo has fine detail, the answer is usually a patch beanie: a leather, woven, or embroidered patch sewn onto the cuff holds detail that stitching straight into a stretchy knit can’t. The logo goes front and center on the cuff, and the space is small: about 3 to 3.5 inches wide and under 1.5 inches tall. A wide, horizontal wordmark or a simple icon fits naturally. A tall, detailed logo doesn’t — it either gets simplified for thread or moved to a patch, and we’ll tell you which before you commit.

Knit stretches, which is the thing to plan for. Fine text fills in and thin lines wander when the beanie is pulled on, so we keep details bold, add stabilizer behind the cuff, and show you the sew-out on a mockup first. A side mark — a small wordmark or year over the ear — is the only other placement that reads well; the crown is too soft and too curved for a logo.

Two things set the price: the beanie and the logo. A cuff logo is small, so the stitch count — and the embroidery charge — is usually lower than the same brand’s cap or polo. That makes a standard acrylic beanie with a clean cuff logo one of the least expensive embroidered pieces we make, and a good reason they show up in so many swag boxes and welcome kits. Fleece-lined blanks, premium brands, and patches push the number up.

Digitizing is included when you order through a company store or place a bulk order that meets our minimums — and if we already stitch your caps, your logo is on file and there’s nothing to set up. Outside that it’s a one-time charge we quote up front. When you compare quotes, add the other shop’s setup fee back in before deciding which is cheaper.

A one-time run starts at 24 beanies, with no size list to collect. Most orders run about two to three weeks from the approved mockup. Beanies are seasonal, and blanks sell through in the fall — if you’re planning holiday gifts or a winter merch drop, tell us the date early and we’ll check stock before you commit.

Through an online company store there’s no minimum at all: a new hire grabs one in November, a manager orders ten for a client, and they match the crew’s because they’re stitched from the same saved file. For bulk merch — fundraisers, school spirit wear, retail drops — beanies are the highest-margin piece on the table after the tee.
